Chefs go head-to-head in tamales

Sononoma cooks will compete to find out the truth: who makes the best tamale. The inaugural Cinco de Mayo Festival and Tamale Cook-off is set for Sunday, May 5, at Cornerstone Gardens in Sonoma, with proceeds set to benefit Sonoma Valley schools.

Bart Park Babies Party on April 20

The tasting room at Bartholomew Park Winery once housed the Sonoma Community Hospital from 1945-57, and many Valley residents were born there. On Saturday, April 20, the winery will mark its second annual Bart Park Babies’ Celebration from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Wineglass painting set at BR Cohn

It looks like spring is just around the corner and B.R. Cohn Winery is marking the occasion with a “Paint Your Own Wineglass” workshop on Easter weekend. Stop by the tasting room on Saturday or Sunday, March 30 and 31 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and receive a B.R. Cohn logo wineglass to paint and enjoy a glass of wine, or a flight of four wines.

The Sonoma Valley Education Foundation has set the 2013 Red and White Ball for Saturday, Aug. 24, at the historic downtown Sonoma Plaza. The colorful event will again host Dave Martin’s House Party Band for a dance party on the Sonoma Plaza.
