Brewers sought for beer competition

The community center is accepting amateur home-brew submissions until 5 p.m. on Friday, March 15, in the center’s office, located at 276 E. Napa St. Winners will be selected multiple nationally recognized categories and one grand prize submission will be chosen as “Best in Show.”

Tickets on sale for ‘Paris’

The Sebastiani Theatre s gearing up for an evening of music, entertainment and poetry with a Parisian twist on Monday, Feb. 11, at 7:30 p.m. Northern California gypsy jazz band Rue Manouche will return for its popular “One Night in Paris” fundrasing event to benefit the historic theater.

Schools, shops, groups, organizations and nonprofits are invited to enter their mini-Mardi Gras floats and join the parade on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 12:30 p.m. – to be led by Petaluma’s Rhythmtown Jive band.

‘Sisters’ exhibit to open at Cornerstone

Renowned figurative ceramic sculptors, and sisters, Jane Burton and Tyler Burton will debut their first collaborative exhibition titled “Sisters” on Saturday, Jan. 26, at A New Leaf Gallery/ Sculpturesite located at Cornerstone in Sonoma. A reception for the artists will be held on Sunday, Jan. 27, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the gallery.

Book sale to begin Feb. 6

Videos, CDs, books on tape and DVDs also available at the sale. No item will cost more than $2. All proceeds will benefit the local library.

Mentoring Alliance plans informational meeting

The Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance is hosting a “no pressure” information session and cocktail hour on Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at MacArthur Place for new potential mentors. It will be a chance to ask questions and hear from mentors and mentees about their experiences.
